A Very Poetic Sant Jordi at CreaNova!

As is tradition, for Sant Jordi AFA organised a range of activities for all students, with poetry as the central theme and the aim of encouraging literary creativity.

The study room, lovingly decorated by the students for the occasion, was transformed into a space full of inspiration and creativity. Throughout the day, the different groups passed through this magical environment, which featured a variety of themed corners filled with carefully selected poetry books and materials for literary creation.

Here are some of the workshops that took place:

  • Paper Creatures: inspired by the book of the same name, students brought the animals from their own poems to life—animals with their feet on the ground, their heads in the clouds, or completely soaked!
  • Poetic Alphabet: using the books on display as a starting point, pupils wrote poems using… alphabet pasta!
  • Thank you, Mother Earth: with the help of books on nature and works by Catalan authors such as Josep Carner, Mercè Rodoreda, and Joan Salvat-Papasseit, they created poems inspired by our planet.
  • Poetry Explorers: an invitation to delve into the world of poetry and discover its hidden treasures.

There was also a space for building with Lego bricks inspired by the books in the room, and a creative corner for free expression—where students could sit, read, imagine, and write based on books of their choice.
For the older groups, we hosted a very special poetry-rap workshop led by musician and composer NEL.LO C from Sabadell. Through urban music, the students created and rapped their own verses in Catalan. The result? Some spectacular creations!

To wrap up, there was a collaborative activity to sort and cover books for the school library—a workshop filled with love, aimed at caring for and growing our reading space.

Thanks to all the families and teaching staff who made this special day possible. Long live poetry, and long live Sant Jordi!
